Atlona HDMI to Mini DisplayPort Converter and Scaler. Model: AT-DP300

The all new Atlona AT-DP300 is an HDMI to Mini DisplayPort Converter and Scaler, a perfect gadget which allows users connecting HDMI related sources such as PS3, Xbox 360, Apple TV, Cable or Satellite Receivers and Blu-Ray Players to new Apple Displays and Computers, e.g., Apple 24-inch LED, Apple 27-inch LED and Apple 27-inch iMac. The device also works with non-Apple displays, e.g., HP, Dell, and others; however Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort adapter will be required.

The AT-DP300 is capable of accepting any incoming resolution up to 1080p though HDMI input and convert/scale the output up to 1920x1200.

Compatibility:

• 24-inch Apple LED users. The AT-DP300 is capable of accepting any incoming resolution up to 1080p though HDMI input and scale the output to the native and highest resolution of Apple 24-inch LED display which is 1920x1200.
• 27-inch Apple LED users. The AT-DP300 is capable of accepting any incoming resolution up to 1080p though HDMI input and scale the output to 720p on the Mini DisplayPort output. The reason why it is limited to 720p on the 27-inch display is because 27-inch display is only capable of 3 resolutions 800x600, 1280x720 or 2560x1440 and since the DP300 can only go up to 1920x1200 (which is below 2560x1440), it will switch to the next resolution down which is 1280x720 (720p). Some previous advertisements from non-Apple sources showed that Apple 27-inch LED is also 1080p compatible; however this is not correct. Atlona makes a device which is capable of scaling any HDMI incoming signal to the highest resolution of Apple 27-inch LED, the model number is AT-HD620
• 27-inch iMac users. The AT-DP300 is capable of accepting any incoming resolution up to 1080p though HDMI input and scale the output to 720p on the Mini DisplayPort output. The reason why it is limited to 720p on the 27-inch iMac is because 27-inch iMac is only capable of 3 resolutions 800x600, 1280x720 or 2560x1440 and since the DP300 can only go up to 1920x1200 (which is below 2560x1440), it will switch to the next resolution down which is 1280x720 (720p). • Dell, HP, Asus, other non-Apple display users. The AT-DP300 is capable of accepting any incoming resolution up to 1080p though HDMI input and scale the output to all resolutions up to 1920x1200. Most non-Apple displays have a native resolution of 1920x1200 or lower, which is will work perfectly with Apple DP300.

* The advantage of the scaler, is all incoming resolutions can be scaled up or down to the required output resolution, which will allow users to send the highest resolution available, e.g., 1080p and get the best video output results. Another advantage is the DP300 will work with Apple 24-inch display at the native resolution of 1920x1200.
